سریال تلویزیونی “بازی تاج و تخت” برای دومین سال پیاپی ۱۲ جایزه تلویزیونی امی به دست آورد.
این سریال که تولید شبکه اچ‌بی‌او است و امسال برای ۲۳ جایزه نامزد شده بود، همچنان رکورددار بیشترین دریافت جایزه در یک دوره است.
“بازی تاج و تخت” (Game of Thrones) با ۱۲ جایزه‌ای که یکشنبه شب (۱۸ سپتامبر/۲۸ شهریور) به دست آورد، مجموع جوایز امی خود را به ۳۸ جایزه رساند و توانست رکورد مجموع بیشترین جوایزی امی که یک سریال تلوزیونی به دست آورده را نیز بشکند.
این رکورد تا پیش از این با ۳۷ جایزه در اختیار سریال “فریژر” بود.
بازی تاج و تخت علاوه بر دریافت جایزه بهترین سریال دراما، جوایز بهترین کارگردانی و بهترین فیلمنامه را برای یکی از اپیزودهایش به دست آورد.
در شصت و هشتمین دوره جوایز امی که در لس‌آنجلس برگزار شد، سریال معاون رئیس جمهور (Veep) که آن هم تولید اچ‌بی‌او است، جایزه بهترین سریال کمدی را گرفت.


جولیا لوئیس دریفوس که در این سریال نقش رئیس جمهور خیالی آمریکا را بازی می‌کند، برای پنجمین سال پیاپی جایزه بهترین بازیگر نقش اصلی زن را در بخش کمدی گرفت.
جایزه بهترین بازیگر نقش اصلی مرد در بخش کمدی را هم جفری تامبر برای سریال ترانس‌پرنت دریافت کرد.
در بخش درام، جایزه بهترین بازیگر مرد را رامی مالک برای سریال آقای روبات گرفت و جایزه بهترین بازیگر نقش اصلی زن به تاتیانا مزلنی برای بازی در سریال Orphan Black اهدا شد.
شبکه تلویزیونی اچ‌بی‌او٬ تهیه‌کننده سریال بازی تاج و تخت که رکورد پربیننده‌ترین برنامه تلویزیونی تاریخ را در اختیار دارد٬ گفته است که این مجموعه پس از پخش فصل هشتم آن پایان خواهد یافت.
قرار است فصل هفتم “بازی تاج و تخت” که بر خلاف فصل‌های پیشین از هفت قسمت تشکیل شده در سال ۲۰۱۷ پخش شود.
